A Summer Tournament Miniature

I played a cute game against Greg Tomkovich in the Summer Tournament Thursday night. It was all over on move 9, but Greg continued for 10 more moves out of inertia before he resigned. I think I might try that Janowski Indian again some time. My victory allowed Kernighan to take the lead in the event with only two weeks to go.

1. d4 Nf6 2. Nf3 d6 3. c4 Bf5 4. Nc3 Nc6 $5 {Despite its success in the present game, this move is not best.} ({ The more standard plan is} 4... g6 {when} 5. Nh4 Bd7 6. e4 Bg7 7. Be2 e5 8.
